Photographers' Network Meeting

Tuesday 16 March 2010, 6.30pm

Speaker: Stephen King

Stephen King is an award winning Liverpool-based photographer with fifteen years of national and international professional experience. He will be discussing his most recent publication and exhibition Lewis's Fifth Floor: A Department Story, a collection of photographs from the 'lost' fifth floor of the store, which was sealed off more than thirty years ago and hasn't been seen by the public since. King reveals the hidden canteen where the young Beatles played at staff parties, the intricate mosaics that have become registered historic works and the breathtaking scale of what was at one time the world's largest hair salon.

Lewis's Fifth Floor: A Department Story is at Liverpool's National Conservation Centre until Aug 30. www.liverpoolmuseums.org.uk/conservation/exhibitions/lewiss

Organised in collaboration with Redeye, our network meetings for photographers take place every couple of months. They offer photographers of all kinds and levels of experience the chance to socialise, catch up on news and gossip, meet members of the Redeye and Open Eye teams and see short talks and presentations of work.
