Open Eye Projects - International Residencies
At the end of July 08, Colombian artist Nelson Guzmán reached the end of a three month residency in Liverpool, hosted by Open Eye Gallery and Metal (and supported by Visiting Arts). His critical exploration of the idea of evil draws powerful parallels between the distancing effect of cinema and that of the news, crime and celebrity.
Guided by the Echo, an exhibition that took place at Metal Culture’s new project space in Edge Hill Train station, brought together a large body of photographs, research and work in progress produced during Guzmán’s time in Liverpool.
